Hi @Anonymous

If your application was declined then O2 should be refunding your deposit. Keep checking your bank.

Best time to contact customer services is about 8.30 am http://www.o2.co.uk/contactus

Whilst again O2 profit off the £50 whilst the 'Customer' waits days and days for THEIR money back.

When will this malpractice be stopped!!!!!

Report to Trading Standards. The more they know of this, the more they can do.

I find this practice deplorable. O2 take money randomly and take days to pay it back, it's really outrageous. Even if the money has just been set aside it means funds are not available to the cardholder for up to a week.

I'm sure they will return it to you, why there is such a delay I do not know.

I can never see me taking out a contract phone with O2.

Perhaps circumvent O2 and speak to your Banks Customer Services Department. They may be able to recover the funds faster than O2.

It is probably just reserved rather than actually taken but your bank can confirm this for you. However the funds won't be released until the o2 system updates in around2 or 3 days time.

My thoughts too which is why I said the funds would not be available for days.
