Hello, I have a £15 pay as you go monthly plan and will be travelling to Italy. Can you please confirm that the 25g I have in my big bundle pay as you go plan will cover roaming internet in Italy?

Yes it will.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Data should be OK as per the link supplied by @M15

However, as a PAYG customer you will find you will need 2G to make calls as PAYG has no 4G calling and Italy has no 3G.

Hopefully the phone will drop to 2G automatically.

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

I'd bet well over 80% of people are only interested in data abroad these days.

WharsApp is always a viable option for calls anyway.

I agree that not many will make voice calls from overseas ; but we do seem to get quite a few queries about issues with text messages to or from overseas. These frequently refer to OTPs and to "short" codes.

It's also worth reminding folks occasionally that there are other options besides Whatsapp ; these include Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Skype.

WhatsApp is the most used though.

Others are less likely to be used by the average person.

Facebook Messenger would be a close second I guess.
