I have a UK feature phone so no apps?. I am in India and want to make a short call to the UK but  I can't. Is there something I need to do to make a call

Try +44 and get rid of the 0 and see if you have a restriction of calling out

No there is no change. I think I shall just let the credit expire and get a new SIM next time I am in the UK. Perhaps one which actually does what it's supposed to do - you pick up the phone, dial a number and connect without all this hassle
