No idea if this is as bad in the UK but these figures stunned me a bit...

U.S. children between ages 8 and 12 report spending nearly six hours a day using media, while those ages 13 to 18 spend almost nine hours per day using media, according to the group

It's so easy to say 'take their phones off them'...but then this would lay them open to all sorts of alienation from their peers...

I suppose all those little checks add up throughout the day. I guilty of it every time I have a spare minute, mostly though habit now.

It's rare to see a teenager walking down the road or sat on public transport without their nose in the phone or headphones connected to it so yes it's the same addiction here.

A lot of adults can be just as bad these days. I have a friend who's constantly engrossed in his phone even when people are trying to have a conversation with him! It can be very annoying. Smiley Mad
