Getting a smartphone SIM questions

Can I take the SIMs out of my O2 laptop dongle and the one in my mobile phone both are pasg and use them to get me started?

I do not at present know much abot smartphones so be gentle with me.

Yes, the sim makes the phone active. A proper phone sim will give you calls, texts and data.
Your dangle sim is data only.
Yes, when you top up your phone sim the phone will work.

Well I got the Aldi Medion E5005 and found both my present SIM cards too big to fit.

Called at phone shop and they swopped my PAYG phone SIM for a new one and transferred my number and credit to it.  New SIM now in Medion and phone is working.

Got onto the internet via my home wi-fi.

Finding it hard to use nothing like a computer but I will get there.

Need to get my Search engine to find a site with a dummies guide to smartphones.  🙂
