Its widely reported that it also corrects the security bug that allows someone to bypass the user lock code to get to your home screen.

Downside, I got it all downloaded, 75% installed on iPhone 5 and then it decides it doesn't like it and tells me it needs a full restore

Now having to finish off putting back on all the music, apps etc...... Thankfully I remembered to make sure I backed-up before hand

Is it normal for the install to crash part way through or was i just unlucky?

Hi there, I had this problem, downloaded the software fine and it hasn't fixed the issue. I have not used my iphone, no apps open and my battery has drained 50% in under an hour. I didn't have this problem previously. Any idea how to fix?

Try a full restore in iTunes.
