Using my phone in Germany

Anonymous
Not applicable
Hey guys, I am currently In Germany and will be for a few weeks. I have an iPhone 5C on O2 PAYG.
I bought a prepaid German O2,card, but when I put it in the phone It comes up with an error message saying the SIM is invalid.
I'm assuming this is some kind of regional lock preventing the use of foreign SIM cards.
Does anyone have any idea how to remove this? Is rather not pay extortionate prices to call and text all my German friends and is rather not replace my phone!
Thanks in advance!

It sounds like the phone is locked to O2

You need to fill in the unlock form in my signature

Free to pay monthly and £15 for P&G customers

You need to fill in this form https://www.o2.co.uk/apps/help/help?qid=1&q1=2&route=unlocking&case=Handset%20Unlocking%... it will cost you £15 to unlock it taken out of your credit

I think you can only unlock whilst on the uk network.

So you'll have to wait until you return.

I think the phone is locked on O2, I'm trying to get the German O2 card in it to work. I have had little luck. I'll try and get the unlock code anyway and see what happens - thank-you very much!

Remember to complete the unlock you need a different UK SIM CARD.

Vodaphone etc.

Not the German one.

I still don't think it'll unlock but good luck anyway. slight_smile
