Moving from iphone 4 to iphone 5s

Anonymous
Not applicable

Just received my new iphone 5s on O2 but through a 3rd party. It comes with a new sim. Will this keep my old number? And what do I need to do to transfer the data? Is it just a backup to icloud, then simswap?

Thanks

Backup your 4 to iTunes or iCloud then use the backup to restore your 5s.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Restoring content and Apps via iCloud can be a time consuming task, unless you've got a fast broadband connection of course. iTunes will perform that task a lot quicker in that situation, as the same data is being transferred via USB.

I hope you're enjoying your 5S, it'll be a significant upgrade on your old iPhone 4 wink

You will notice a big difference. I went from a 4S to a 6 & straightaway noticed a huge difference.

I had a play on a friends 5S & compared to the 4 it's way better & more different than you've had before

Though I admit the iPhone 7 or whatever they call it will need to step up to the mark if it's going to compete with the S6 & note 5
