Is there anyway I could put insurance on my phone after i purchased it

@Sarah29 If you have a homeowner's contents insurance policy check that first, as many cover mobile phones. You may already be covered and won't need to spend extra money. Many banks do mobile insurance as well, so check your bank too, as those policies could be less expensive than what O2 offers.
