First thing to try is your postcode for mast faults here http://status.o2.co.uk/
Try cleaning the sim and rebooting the phone.
Check the message centre number by opening messages, settings and the centre number should be one of these.
The message service centre settings are as follows:
+447802000332 for Pay Monthly
or
+447802092035 for Pay & Go
You'll need to check that the message centre number starts with +44 and not 0044

Isn't it irritating when someone leaves a message entitled "Urgent" and doesn't bother to to respond to the people trying to help. Makes you wonder why you bother!!
