1800MHz 4G on iPhone 5

Hi all,

For any iOS device users out there, you may have noticed a recent carrier file update. Typically these are nothing but minor updates to keep your devices running smoothly and efficiently on the network, but the most recent carrier file update adds support by default for 1800MHz 4G. Currently the only area we have 1800MHz 4G is the Channel Tunnel, so we hope you enjoy the speed if you have an iPhone 5 and plan to travel through it sometime soon.

PS. To clarify, this will not give your iPhone 5 the ability to connect to our widespread 800MHz 4G signal - no software updated will achieve this as the iPhone 5 only supports a small range of 4G frequencies, and 800MHz isn't one we're afraid.

It was promised a while ago but we have since been told that it will never be an option - never say never......

Yes im not sure why they havnt implemented it as its only a Network setting update.

Strange one in deed.

But I dont beleive Voda, EE or Three have it as well.

But yes I agree, I found it really strange being able to use my phone on Virgin Atlantic. Although at 50p per sms, I sent one back to my Mum which said. Im sending this sms at 38,000feet over the Atlantic in a aeroplane. xx.

Flying to Spain every 6-8 weeks with Ryanair does not give you that level of luxury Darren....

EDIT: As you see....I wasn't even thinking about France (only flying over it)

Ryanair has lots of luxury. You get a chair and a belt, and jingle when you land ontime, what more do you want !

Soon, you will get Wifi. Unsure if it will be free just yet as Ryanair boss hasnt decided.
