Anonymous

Since the upgrade to 4.4.2 my phone is dropping signal and saying no network very frequently. I have been missing important calls all over the place, and not getting texts or voice mail till hours after. Normally once I have made an outgoing call.

Hi

Have you performed a hard reset after the update to de clutter your phones files.

http://www.hard-reset.com/samsung-galaxy-s4-hard-reset.html

Check here http://status.o2.co.uk with your full postcode just in case your masts are playing up (assuming this is not happening everywhere)

A self help thread : http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Pay-Monthly-and-Pay-Go/Self-help-guide-Is-the-network-down-for-me-or-ev...

Possibly having your Sim Card swapped out at an O2 high-Street Shop may help.

Welcome to the forum too. slight_smile

First off, have you done a factory reset after updating to KK? We normally recommend this after a software update to stop conflicts with the old software. A useful guide Here

check your postcode here : O2 Service Status

Other things to try are cleaning the simcard or replacing it at the O2 store, they will arrange it for you but it can take up to 24 hours.

No local signal problems other half is o2 and his phone is fine. And this has been happening since the update regardless of where I go.

I had to get 2 new sim cards following the last update. Surely there is a better way?

Ok.

Have you considered the hard reset.

Make a back up first.

Or if you can try your sim in an alternative phone.

Process of elimination.

I'm off to back up and factory reset. You'd think we'd have moved on from turn it off and try again by now.

Turning it off and on is a soft reset.

A hard reset is carried out by following the instructions in my hard reset link. slight_smile
