no network coverage dorchester. dorset

first post for me here, for the last ten days apart from some of yesterday there has been no signal or coverage for me at dt12ls. i have sent msg on fb and been replied to that the engineers are working to repair a mast. on saturday i spoke to an advisor on live chat that told me all probems were repaired but they were not. so looking further into this do o2 advisors blatently tell you that problems are solved when they are not. i would much prefer to be told the truth good or bad than lied to what i feel has happened. status checker shows a mast not working but absolutely nothing on unplanned issues. i know where the nearest mast to me is and currently it is being scaffolded for repair and maintainance it is a victorian water tower. i believe this mast is turned off to protect workers from microwave radiation whitch is fair enough in my view but why no notification etc from o2. used to be a good company but seems now could not care at all but still take full money from your bank etc. i just want to know the truth tbh.

Thanks very much for that @Cleoriff it certainly puts a different light on the problem. They are obviously well aware of it so I too would be livid. The only course of action though is a complaint to see what options they are given.

It needs to be pointed out (rightly or wrongly) that you are not allowed to leave your contract without penalty, by law.
If O2 do allow this, in your case, it will be at their discretion and may have certain proviso's attached to it.

Which is why I suggest a complaint to see what options are given I suspect it will be a reduced tariff or free months until the mast is back in commission.

No argument from me jonsie - I just didn't want the OP to think they had any "rights" in law to leave without penalty, that's all.....

Obviously both you and jonsie are right....I just posted the article to show how long this has been going on and how problematic it is.... The poster claimed it was in local news...obviously it is now such a problem it has made BBC news as well

For a problem such as this lasting weeks, and which they are well aware of, common sense would seem to be a temporary mast. Maybe now the national press are aware....?

this has been my thoughts all along that the mast down issue has been a fabrication. i have had conversations with live chat and on 202 and been actually told on 202 that engineers are waiting for a part. i think i have clearly been lied to and fobbed off. and thats a bad way to treat customers o2 do not put anything about planned maintainance of this problem at all, and live status checker says they are investigating reports a mast is down. at this moment to me o2 are a disgrace purely because of the lies i have been told.

I can understand advisers and chat advisers not being aware, they only go off the live status page as do customers. It's this page that is the issue and should be up to date and a problem such as this should be on there. Honest and upfront...

Question : Are their any Mobile Networks that have a fully comprehensive Truly 'Live' Service Checker ?
