Anyone who has updated to version 17 (was released at the beginning of Oct), have you noticed a wakelock and high battery usage for the app. Seems im not alone according to this reddit thread

Just curious if its effecting everyone. Its not overly noticable unless you look in the battery settings, as it doesnt drain the battery too much

Yes, untick so you can install 3rd part apps then download it to phone.
Just tap it once downloaded and it will go straight to install screen.
Remove your current version first or else you may get a parse error.

If it's causing you problems you can manually install 16 from here https://instagram.en.uptodown.com/android/old
Looks like a newer version (18) is also available.

Thanks. According to the Reddit post 18 also has the issue. Is it possible to install from that website if i have the option ticked on my phone to not install 3rd party apps? Or should i temparory disable it and reenable it afterwards?

Also how do you install, it is just a case of downloading and running the file?
