Hi there.

The Google Nexus 5 has a front facing camera.so can anyone tell me how I can a video call on it? I believe video calls are part of standard minutes if using
O2 to make the call.

If it's not natively supported is there a hack which will do it.

Thanks for readinh

Where did you get that information from? Video calls are not part of your minutes allowance. You need an app like Skype, and you need a data plan. Video calls can be made using your data allowance.

You can make video calls through the native Hangouts app either over wifi or using data.

By the way I wouldn't use Skype over 3g because I'd use all my data up rather quickly. I only have 500mb a month and I've no intention of increasing it right now.

I read two threads on here from 2009 and 2010 saying that it was the same as making voice calls.

Kind regards

Old tariffs which are no longer relevant unless you are on one of them.

On new tariffs video calls are 50p/min.

If your data allowance is that low you'd be best advised to just use WiFi if you want to make video calls.

Thanks for the replies. I won't be using video calling if it's 50p a minute. I was just curious because I thought the option might exist.

I assume people using an iPhone would so get charged 50p a minute if not using wifi.
