Unlocking Phone --- O2 Useless

Anonymous
Not applicable

Just paid off the remainder of my device plan and want to move elsewhere due to getting a better data deal.

But due to Sony replacing my faulty phone and thus having a new imei, the online request keeps telling me its not a o2 device when it still branded o2. Only o2 sim will work with phone.

Between calling South Africa and god knows where else. I get different answers. escalation after escalation and still no where.

So i have a phone I have bought and paid for and O2 wont unlock it thus making it a paperweight or forcing me to use a o2 sim.

A telecomunication company that can only email the unlatching team my email ffs.

I emailed complaints today mate. So just need to wait and see how long it takes.

Just annoying As i was told 7 days and my new sim is here and now I am paying for o2 tarrif and new tarrif.

How bad can a customer service be. Even on the phone to them.

You get a persons name whihc is useless cos you cant get that person again and they cant transfer calls

I know - It;s hopeless at the mo. Something has to change or else there will be no customers left to serve.
You can also Google for the CEO's email and send them a moan too.....

I nearly didnt have a phone as I was so close to imbedding it in the wall slight_smile He is the email I just got

Dear Chris Rooney

Thank you for your unlatching request for IMEI 3575900606*****. The
mobile number that you provided is 0759062****

I'm sorry, we have not been able to unlatch your device at this time.
The reason given is:

This is not an O2 device, it will not be possible for us to provide an
unlatching code. Please contact the handset manufacturer for the same.

Thank you,

O2 Customer Service

Like I said before, it's bull.
If it is definitely locked, only o2 can unlock it.
Looks like the CEO's office is the next step wink

There's no hope for the future of O2's CS the way things are at present.....
