Evening folks,
Sorry we couldn't mention anything before hand but tonight we were invited along to a certain little Google announcement from the heart of London. Lets just cut straight to the chase, shall we?
They're coming, and they're coming to O2... Presenting the freshly announced Nexus 5X (made by LG) and Nexus 6P (made by Huawei)

Nexus 6P

CAMERA: 12.3MP back / 8MP front
BATTERY: 3,450mAh
FEATURES
- "Nexus Imprint" Fingerprint sensor
- Android 6.0 Marshmallow
- Type-C USB (reversible connector, yay!)
- 4k video recording capability
- Slow motion video capture
I was incredibly lucky to be invited to this event on behalf of O2 and while we'd always love to be able to take our community users with us, it's just not possible. Instead, we'd like to share some photos we captured of the announcement and hope it gives you a bit of a unique insight into what some of these handset announcements are like in person.
Hands on experience
As you can see from the photos below, I also secured some demos of the handsets and there's a couple of things I wanted to mention. The fingerprint scanner is very fast and you can set up multiple fingerprint entries, just in case like me you your phone swaps hands every two minutes. Both screens are incredibly sharp and bright, and the colours are great. I experienced a completely lag free Android system - apps loaded instantly, menus were smooth - everything just worked right away. The cameras seem to be a fantastic quality and the photos taken in relatively low-light looked fantastic - the laser auto-focus was also extremely fast, as is booting up the camera itself - in the blink of an eye.
I'm really impressed with the look and feel of both handsets and I do believe both LG and Huawei and given both devices their absolute all.

Liking the looks of these new Nexus devices? Prefer the 'pure Android experience' over others? Like any of the photos we've snapped for you?

@Anonymous,
The funny thing is you will get a different reply every time you contact them. I contacted them 3 times. First one told me its out of stock (Which isn't possible as it has not even be in stock). Second time the guy told me they had too much pre-orders and the third guy said it due to come at the end of November.
If the end of November is true then I will just leave and go to EE or CPW.
TBH o2 messed up the launch compared to last year with the nexus 6 which o2 did very well

well i have just spoke to the not so helpful folks on 202
the date they have advised although he could not confirm was the 16 november
he had taken numerous calls about the 6p today and that was the initial date given to him on the first enquiry and made a note for future calls
i called in at a local cpw and the lass there could get one in silver for thursday
not sure what to do now

I think I'm going to get my PAC code, the vodafone deal looks pretty good. Was hoping to see what O2 were offering, but I'm not waiting another 3 weeks to then see I have to move anyway.

just to throw a spanner in the works just bear in mind the next time i phone o2 i would probably be told a different date
i just wish they would come clean and announce a date
on a different note what would change with my contract if i upgraded with carphone warehouse
i remember years ago if i had a network problem i had to ring cpw as 02 would not deal with me but then i also remember getting a letter saying 02 were taking over my account
so what is the difference
