My bank in Canada is now forcing me to buy a Canadian mobile phone account. I need to account to receive a verification code when transferring money from Canada to the UK. I've been told an Esim is the solution, is that correct?

Apparently I can purchase an Esim, program it for Canada and receive a Canadian phone number. Is that correct?

What about costs? I only need to receive 2 or 3 texts per month from my Canadian bank so minimal usage.

What about security? I will receive texts from my bank but all transfer processes will be done on my laptop.

Any help will be appreciated.

You will need to look at Canadian networks and see which has the best tariff for what you want

Check if they do eSIMs and if it can be activated in the UK, if mot it will have to be done in Canada

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

@R_UK

Have a look at Rogers or Bell for esims, but this website might help https://moving2canada.com/living/utilities/cell-phone-providers-in-canada/

- Xperia 1V - o2 and Spusu
- Pixel 8 Pro - o2 and Vodafone UK
