switched from pay monthly to PAYG - not working

Anonymous
Not applicable

I switched from pay monthly to PAYG and the change was supposed to happen today. I am keeping the same number and I want the pay and go go go tarrif (£10) https://www.o2.co.uk/freesim/tariffs/payandgogogo?cm_mmc=googleuk-_-PPC_Direct_Free_Sim-_-Brand-Core...

i tried texting GO10 to 21300 numerous times but the text is failing. I can't text or use my phone at all and when I try to change tarriff by calling 2202 (or 202) it says the service is not available.

I really need to get my phone/texts working and this was supposed to be a smooth switchover - keeping number and changing tarrifs! when I check my my O2 account it doesn't have my number at all, just a "deactivated bill"

I have a feeling something has gone wrong but can't get in touch with an actual human to sort it out!

Can anyone help?

Hi.

Look in your my02 to see if the new tariff has taken.

Contact them via.

Payg Customer Service.

From your O2 mobile 4445 @ 25p per call. {Some Payg contracts are free to ring 4445-Check your T&C}
From a landline 0844 809 0222 > 5p / min

You may need a Payg blank SIM card available at any O2 store and they'll transfer your number and tariff into it for you.

Or if you have the new sim here is the link to do this at home

http://swapmysim.o2.co.uk

Process is normally fast but can take upto 24 hours.

Did you receive and activate your new sim card?

I would really perform the sim swap at an O2 store.

Contract sims and Payg ones are different. Ie they hold different message centre numbers etc.

Are your masts ok.

You have to have a new PAYG sim or it will never work without changing your message centre number everytime you start the phone.
Your data settings will also be different - all the correct info is stored on the correct sim card.
