Is it bought in China as well and confirmed to be working?

I have an experience of bringing an international samsung phone to Korea and want to get a prepaid SIM but interestingly the staff told me that the phone cannot be registered on the network a few years ago.

Yes, bought in China and working fine.

Not sure why then unless you have recently bought a new device? Your account may need to be reset. If it's important that you are able to see your device details then you would need to ring customer services. Numbers to phone from abroad are in this link http://www.o2.co.uk/contactus

My past experience is the device details is able to update automatically, because I changed the device once(from samsung note 3 to A7000 Plus) before. However, the device details fail to show after I change to Huawei Mate 8.

What I worry about is whether my new phone will be able to be registered on UK mobile network.

It makes no difference what shows in your my o2.
If you have an o2 sim in your phone it will work when you are in UK.
Your device won't register in your MyO2 until you are using it on o2 UK network either.

It is a Chinese brand. There is a EU model(NXT-L29) but the one in my hand is the Chinese model(NXT-AL10).
