Samsung Galaxy S6 constantly getting stuck on edge

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi,

My S6 keeps getting stuch on the EDGE network. Example:

1) In an area of low service, for example a standard 2G area.

2) I will enter an area where 4G will 100% work, (driving to derby)

3) Upon entering, it won't connect to 4G and it will just sit and stay on EDGE

4) Have to turn on / off airplane mode.

Starting to get old now, it can't even hold H+, it constantly flickers between the two untill finally dropping down to EDGE in the end.

Have you tried a new sim card?
If you think phone is faulty, speak to Samsung - do not use o2's repairers under any circumstances!

Well, since Samsung isn't available right now I bit the bullet and asked for help on the o2 chat. They didn't offer any kind of repair and I would have refused it anyway. They are led to believe that it is a signal issue, even though I am positive it isn't, looks like I might have to retry tormorrow because it's starting to become like speaking to a brick wall. Apparently Derby is still on EDGE and they are still catching up on 3G/4G at Markeaton Park. What an absolute joke!

@Anonymous Are you able to try your sim in another 4G phone, or try a sim from a friend who's on O2 in your S6?

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

Pop into your local o2 shop and do a sim swap first.

Well - in the end it's still not solved and I wont be able to get to an o2 store this weekend and possibily for a long time. I am totally disgusted though with the manor of this o2 customer ""support"". I got more support of Samsung and these forums than the last 4 ""Guru's"", it's finally ended up as a formal complaint and I am now tweeting them.
