Took a phone on an O2 contract with O2 through O2 a year ago.

First about support there is none. A week trying to talk to an agent on the chat system.

Don't know what number to phone.

The chat agent's are reading the screen. So basically useless.

I have a lot of questions and typing on the phone is really hard for me.

How can O2 just double the bill without notice?

And its a total ripp off, 5GB for £22.

On their worst day no other provider is that expensive. I have just Googled searched it.

I think O2 is shady, so the question is it time for me to take my number to another provider?

I can't get support, the chat agents may as well be bots. or probably are. I can find a number to call.

What do I do?

@Tux

This is a customer to customer community, not O2.
You need to contact O2.
Message them on Social Media. Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) or give them a call on 202 or 0344 809 0202

Guide: Cancelling Your Contract

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

@Tux This is not O2. This is a customer community. You need to speak to customer service.
Call 202 from your mobile or 0344 809 0202, 0800 902 0217 (Payment Management) or 0800 032 1402
When it comes to the reason you are calling, stay silent for 15 seconds and you will be taken to the keypad options.
Press 2 for Everything Else
Press 5 for More Options
Press 7 for Anything Else which will put you though to someone.
Say 'Upgrade', 'Lost/Stolen', or 'Fraud' if the suggestion above doesn't get you through.
Best time to call is 8 am.
You can also reach O2 via social media:
Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB), Twitter (now X) (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW), or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG)

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

@Tux

You have rightly highlighted O2's deficiencies in Customer Service. And you have found a better deal elsewhere.

A few thoughts :-

1. have you tested the networks in the areas that you frequent ? Don't just swop network, test the alternatives first using PAYG SIMs.

2. don't expect better Customer Service elsewhere as UK mobile networks are typically mediocre - look at the community forums of the other networks for information.

3. you'll need to keep an eye on the prices that you are paying whether you move or stay - loyalty counts for nothing in the UK mobile industry and whilst O2 might be "shady" in your eyes, they are certainly not the only network to use "smokescreens and mirrors" in their pricing.
