Hey, Just brought a phone from the o2 store with insurance, Does changing my SIM to Giffgaff that runs on the o2 network effect my insurance policy or does it just insure the handset itself?

The insurance is for the handset.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

I'm sure you will need to notify them if you're using a different number in the phone, normally you're only covered with the sim that you started with.

I would phone and check.

If you have O2 Insure Premier you need to check the exclusions. I'm sure there is a clause that the phone is only insured with the registered sim.
