problem with printer

HP ENVY 4500 printer

it only prints 1/2 of the page (vertically speaking)

the other half remains 'white'

anyone who can help me please?

it hasn't been the same since the cat started sitting on it lol

There is a tool on their website to diagnose problems http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-ENVY-4500-e-All-in-One-Printer-series/5304875/model/5304876/s... but it sounds like you don't have it set to print full page.

& it could be that the margins are not set properly

sorry to bother you ..... but

how do I find out how to re-set the margins

Honestly I've no idea.
Have a look to see if there is anyway in settings to reset to defaults. That should set it up for A4 paper OK.

thank you

I've set the margins to minimal & that seems alright

well on printing as an example a page of Daniel Craig

but on a Marks & Spencers page of clothes for my mum to have a look at, it goes all 'funny'

mum can't come to me, so I'll take the laptop to her tomorrow

I'll checkout another online catalogue to see if its the same with them

don't know if that is co-incidence or not

but thank you, of course, as the printer is now set up for 'other printing'
