Hey guys,
NASA have announced a September launch date for the first sample recovery mission to an asteroid. OSIRIS-REx (Origins, Spectral Interpretation, Resource Identification, Security-Regolith Explorer) spacecraft will land on the asteroid Bennu and collect around 2 ounces of material and return it to earth in 2023.
The material collected could help us understand the origins of the solar system and the source of water and organic material on Earth.
Obviously a bit of a wait but I'll be keeping an eye on the results of this mission. If you want further information in the OSIRIS-REx craft click here.

I dunno. NASA have a pretty good track record overall. We'll have to see how this one turns out
