I've recently got an iphone 6 plus which i'm more than happy with however my wifes iphone 6 has cellular in her settings whilst my 6 plus is 'mobile' only with no cellular option in settings at all - is this normal??

Does it make any difference?

It's because you have your language settings to UK English and hers is American.
Mobile and Cellular are the same thing.

Set language to UK English and reboot the phone.

The Americans don't speak English like wot we do! You need English UK not English US.
