hacked account

Help, it would appear that someone took out a new tariff on my account yesterday. I contacted O2 through 'live chat' as soon as I received a text confirming the order and they assured me it would be cancelled straight away. Later in he evening I phoned O2 just to confirm it had been cancelled and was told yes, not to worry and the fraud team would be in touch. All good so far!

This morning I have been billed for the new tariff and it has appeared as my new account. Does anyone know if this is usual please???

Forget Live chat as they have their uses but not when it is an important occurance such as this.

It will take them a while to straighten out your account, the fraud team should explain it all to you when they call.

Make sure you notify your bank asap as well. Don't leave this entirely up to O2. You need to be proactive too.

I had this happen to me and it was sorted out ok, it was a while before my account was back to normal but I wasn't out by a penny by that time.

If we have the scammers address and particulars why are the police not going round to these places as the phone is being delivered?????

Surely with information sharing that is so vital these days O2 and the delivery company can organise this with the local plod and when the phone is signed for it's a fair cop! caught red handed!
