USA data...

I will be in the US for 4 weeks. For data usage the choices seem to be a new SIM from 3, which will allow minutes/data to be used seemlessly in the US, getting a US SIM, not using data - no Uber, etc... - or incurring large charges. Any other ideas?

One of our members @Bambino travels frequently to the USA. He will have some useful advice for you

I have mentioned him in this post and hope he will come and help...:smileywink:

Edit. I do know he often recommends a local sim...but lets see what he thinks..

Using a sim from Three is a good idea, but be aware that your call charges are only valid for calls to the UK, and not local calls within the US, which are chargeable. The other alternative is a Pay & Go sim from T-Mobile or another local provider. I use T-Mobile when I'm in the US. Just make sure your phone is unlocked before you go.

If you have an account then also use Tugo to utilise your O2 allowances over wifi.

Nothing from o2 for roaming outside Europe I'm afraid. They really should be looking at doing something by now, the world is getting smaller.

If data is your main concern then your best bet is to go with a 3 Pay & Go sim.

+1

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
