02 log in gave me a virus.

I recieved a text message saying I owed 36 pounds on a phone bill. I logged into my 02 account to check and I was told that the next page wasn't protected. I was on the offical 02 website I can't stress that enough. I closed it quickly and I didn't think about it until I got a pop up with what appears to be something transfering files to an unknown location.

I want to warn people trying to log into their account to be careful.

I very much doubt that.

Silly thing to post unless you have identified a specific virus, which I don't think you have.

Download Malwarebytes Anti-malware free version and run it:

We know the O2 site is a bit strange at times but it has never carried a virus and I've used it since 2008.

Did you log in through a link in the text message? If so, you probably weren't logging in to O2.

Run your computer security scan to see if anything pops up and then report back your findings.

One of The Trojans you want to be wary of is a key logger type.

These watch what passwords etc your keying into your keyboard so the bad men can log into your finance sites and Paypal etc.

A great little extension to prevent key logger trojans is KeyScrambler. The personal edition is free. http://download.cnet.com/KeyScrambler-Personal/3000-2144_4-10571274.html

Were you clicking on some other site at the time? It wouldn't be the O2 site otherwise countless site users would have it

I would repeat the process and what was trying to load may complete successfully.

Using an add-on like Trusteer Rapport usually available from most UK bank sites will ensure that you are always visiting a genuine site.

I only had 02 open. I wasn't on any other site at the time.
