iPhone 7 speaker cracking

My iphone 7 speaker is making a crackling/popping noise when on Facetime. This only happens when the person on the other end speaks.

Has anyone else had this issue?

The phone is under 2 weeks old, should I just return it?

Many thanks,

John

Take it back to apple to be tested - it's the quickest way of sorting it out.

Hi @Jmaxcreative I did read somewhere that the iPhone 7 had occasional speaker issues. Or the report stated it was 'hissing' If it was mine I would get it swapped. .....

Edited to add one of the articles. There are many if you do a google search. http://www.theverge.com/2016/9/18/12960526/iphone-7-hissing-noises-coil-whine

Its not the hissing noise, I've read about that. Its only happening on the odd time facetime calls when the other person speaks.

It's still faulty though isn't it? The phone is less than 2 weeks old. it shouldn't be happening at all. If I had paid that sort of money I would be looking to swap it out within the 14 day period.

28 days for faulty items but stock levels aren't good with any of the networks, so apple will be the quickest route.
