I am due an upgrade next month, but ive unfortuantely smashed my iphone 5. I understand o2 pay customers £100 for their old handset. If i owe money on my handset will they take money out of the money for my old handset?

Technically that would be fraud as you're selling something you haven't paid for in full.
I wouldn't attempt it.
Any sum offered by O2 Recycle would depend on condition and whether or not it works, so it's variable.

A quick play on o2 recycle assuming a few answers to the questions they say £10 but that would be conditional to an inspection when they received the phone.
