So...has the iPhone 7 been announced or hinted at yet?
I have had almost every iphone but not the 5/6 and currently have a Lumia 1020 but thinking I may go back to Apple when February comes as that is when I can upgrade without paying anything (I was forced on to 02 refresh).
The reason for moving bsvk to Apple from Nokia is because of updating, it is a lot more annoying and buggy compared to that of Apple.

But failed in the alleged marketing strategy?
I mean using words such as 'cheapest' and 'plastic backed' doesn't fill me with a great deal of confidence. No matter how much of a 'baagain' it is...

In fairness, the build quality of the 5c is surprisingly good and doesn't feel cheap at all. It's a bit like comparing the plastic materials used in a BMW, alongside those that are used in a Skoda. But at the end of the day, it's all about having a range of products that are designed to fit in with a particular budget. Apple will never be a "budget" brand, but having a more affordable entry level product, has given them more of a mass market appeal.
Samsung make some great handsets, and their latest flagship model looks stunning. But some of their cheaper models clearly don't share the same sort of build quality, but they don't necessarily need to. It all comes down to what you're looking for in a handset, and what your personal requirements are.
Edit: to add clarification.

Strangely enough I've never broken any plastic on a Samsung. High quality indeed!
