I'm fast losing the plot. ...you can insure it through home insurance,  your bank account (both free) or look at the many different cheaper options of insurance online.

Well my house insurance excess is £300 because I only ever planned to claim on big things. I don't have a bank account with that and o2 claim to have a new insurance product to cater for iPad pro customers

You have to say you want it on a sharer plan when you purchase it so O2 can set it up from the beginning for you.
