Problem with one particular contact number when I try to send a text message it fails. I haven't blocked the number or anything like that and the receiver has checked their phone and there is no blocks, etc on my number. They can text me and my phone receives the message no problem. The irony is we're both O2 customers. Anyone experienced this before or suggest how I can resolve this? Thanks

iPhone. One of the older models.
Sometimes if someone has been using an iPhone and iMessage and then move to another platform such as Android they need to de register from iMessage via https://selfsolve.apple.com/deregister-imessage

I've tried uninstalling the number then adding again but it didn't work.
Well the question was asked last night re what phone you had...so now we know it is an older model iPhone
It was worth trying my advice of removing the number and reinstalling it as that 'trick' worked for another poster on here.
Are you able to phone the contact you are having problems sending texts to?

Edit: The reason I ask whether you are able to phone the contact is because one of my colleagues is fairly convinced that your number is blocked on the recipients phone.? It's quite easy to do inadvertently...
