Hi.

I am considering a Google Pixel 7 to replace my ageing Samsung s9. I need wifi calling to work as my home has virtually no signal.The S9 works reasonably well even though it is not an o2 bought handset.  The o2 phones are a lot more expensive than via other sellers. Do I need an o2 handset for wifi calling on a Pixel 7 or will any unlocked one work?

No you don't need an O2 handset now.

And the Pixel 7 works on O2 with WiFi Calling

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

@Jon385

It seems to be a good time to get a new handset as there are some excellent offers available on both new and reconditioned models. If you feel inclined to consider staying with Samsung, they are offering cash discounts, generous trade-in values and free accessories on some new handsets.

Please let us know what you finally settle on.

Hope you are a Contract customer, @Jon385 - O2 do not offer 5G or WiFi Calling to their PAYG customers:
