End of contract question

Anonymous
Not applicable
I am at the end of my contract and have paid up and am moving to a sim only deal and have bought a new phone. Can I pop my sim into my new phone or do I have to wait until the new provider (giffgaff) has set it up? I am taking my number with me. Sorry for the question but I am a technophobe! 😞

You need your PAC code from O2 to give to giffgaff....

http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Discussions-Feedback/Obtaining-a-PAC-Code-from-the-O2-Network/m-p/54427...
O2 contract will cancel when PAC takes effect (usually 2 days after).
O2 will still bill you for another month (normal policy) but as soon as your PAC takes effect your account will go into credit, so O2 will refund the extra months charges (this is why it is important to leave the DD in place until O2 have refunded you).

Once you have the PAC you fill out the transfer form here: http://giffgaff.com/support/transfer

You can use your O2 sim in your new phone from giffgaff until the contract ends.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)
