Hi community!

There is a masive security flaw in most android devises which anyone with a bit savy could if found/stole my phone could keep it...

My question: is there any way (without rooting my device) to pin/password protect or stop my device from been able to be factory reset?

No one can reset any of my phones without knowing my 16 digit PIN, so I'm safe and that is regardless of software version.
I also use an app which takes a picture of anyone who attempts to unlock it and I can remotely lock it and wipe it if required.
If it does disappear forever I will just IMEI block it slight_smile

I think the OP might be referring to to something similar to this:

Basically, if you steer clear of downloading apps from third parties, and only download apps from Google's Playstore or Amazon, you're reasonably safe.

I remember Sony were hit with that a while back but the vulnerability was fixed in 4.4.4

So as previously asked, where is your link to facts for this?

Just try and do a "master reset" on your device and see what happens ....

Statements like that need to be backed up by facts. If not, it's nothing more than scaremongering, which may worry some people unnecessarily, and has no place here.
