I'm in Tenerife with my husband and he is unable to text or phone me. He gets a message stating restriction on this number. I am on a rolling contract. We have no issues in the UK. Any ideas?

Try this, @Sandra60, on hubby's phone:

  • Log into your MyO2 account online.
  • Change WIFI and 4G calling to OFF. This will prevent your phone using 4G (and WIFI) when you make a call

    https://www.o2.co.uk/help/network-coverage-and-international/wifi-and-4g-calling

  • Allow about 10 minutes for it to take effect.
  • Make a call and you should see that the 4G in the top right of your mobile screen changes to H showing its has switched to 3G to make the call. The call should connect.
  • End the call and you should see your phone has automatically switched back to 4G.
  • Log into your online MyO2 account
  • Change WIFI and 4G calling to ON.
  • Allow about 10 minutes for it to take effect.
  • Make a call and you should see that the 4G now remains and it will also connect!!!

Worth a shot, this came from Vodafone support forum, so not unique to O2.

If you have difficulty finding the WiFi Calling section in your MyO2, message O2 on
Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB
Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) , they should be able to help you get it switched off on your account (and perhaps even get you back up and running!). Note WiFi and 4G calling on PAYG phones is not supported, assuming your hubby has a Contract phone.
