As per my earlier thread today, it's now a done deal.

I'm sure it will be some time before it takes effect.

thank you @Bambino - I only went into the town's O2 shop on Sunday to enquire about 3 & O2, & was told they didn't know anything, but that they would prefer to stay O2

I see the Regulatory Bodies have to approve it though?...How much input would they have...and could it put a stop to it logically ? I have no idea how these big business deals work in reality....

Yes they still need to approve it but I can't think of any legal reason why they wouldn't......

Officially Three has announced an intention to buy O2, but this requires regulatory approval before it is effective and this could take up to 12 months. Nothing can change until the regulators approve it.

Personally I hope it doesn't happen, I can't see any benefit for consumers in reducing the number of networks to three.

It was only 3 months ago when Ronan Dunne stated that Telefonica would not sell o2 at all.

Someone wondering where he will be working in future? He has presided over a network that is failing to deliver to its customers but conversely has picked up huge numbers of customers through selling mvno deals at suicidal prices.

I don't think there is one, maybe they are buying O2 for the Community.

I have a broadband sim from 3 and have never found a forum for their customers.
