Black screen on S5?

Anonymous
Not applicable

My S5 has developed a fault where you go to wake the phone and the screen won't turn on but the buttons and notification light turns on. You can call the phone and it will ring the screen just remains black.

The only option to get it on again is to remove the battery and even doing this won't get it to go first time, you will have to do it several times.

Has anyone on here had this issue? I see reports on the likes of youtube etc but no fix.

Your phone will still be under warranty, so it would be best for you to bypass O2 and contact Samsung customer support direct.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

If you follow @Bambino 's advice  re contacting Samsung, below is a link re support centre contact details

http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/

Edit: On just checking the Android forums it seems this is a common problem with the S5. It appears that a factory reset often cures the problem...

I would certainly try a factory reset first of all but make sure you back everything up first.
