Sim unlocking- Sony Xperia SP

I have recently bought a Xperia SP off Ebay that is simlocked to O2. But I use a Giffgaff sim in which don't provide a sim unlocking service so I was wondering if I could get a sim unlock code from O2 without having to pay a fee?

Unless you have access to an O2 contract sim you will have to pay the £15 fee as per the instructions on the link above.

O2 will unlock it for you subject to it having been on the network for 12 months,  security details are answered correctly and £15 credit is on the phone.
