I am travelling to France soon, do I need to do anything in advance ( call the CS or change setting of the phone ) in order to use the data in France?

If my plan is in a contract?

My O2 plan was applied together with Virgin Media broadband, I am not sure if this plan is in a contract or I can exit anytime without affecting the discount I have got for my VM broadband?
