Well it’s been 6 weeks since signing up to VM Volt, the VM Volt is active but not the O2, I’m signed up for 5gb £10 and not get Volt 10gb. I contacted 02 who said the Volt is not active, they told me to contact VM, I called VM they were not sure what the problem is so they escalated the problem. Next day I received the following email sent to me on 3rd Jan 2025….

“Hello,

Following your recent query about Volt benefits, we’ve made some checks and can confirm that your account is eligible for Volt benefits.

What’s changing?

We’ve updated your account to confirm your eligibility. It can take up to 14 days for your benefits to be applied to your account.

For more information about Volt benefits, just head to VM

Kind regards,

The Virgin Media team”

I’m sick of chasing VM and O2, what’s annoying I was ok with Giffgaff, £10 20gb monthly contract but was hood winked in taking up the VM O2 Volt package. I should have just gone for the VM 250 !

Ok my question is can I cancel the O2 contract and move to another provider without getting penalised for leaving before contract end which is 18 months.

TIA

@Dave-O2 your and everyone else’s message notifications were in my junk mail. Nothing I did contacting o2 or virgin sorted the problem out. I rang o2 retentions today and I’m now sorted I think? They teared up my existing contract and started a new one, it shows I’m getting 10gb data now on my o2 + they have given me Volt on top of my 10gb (£10) , only downside I had to sign up for 24months. The lady in retentions was very good I must say as is most of the people I’ve spoken to. Must be a technical problem no one could fix ?

thanks

You would think I would be within my legal rights to cancel the contract if I’m not getting what I’m paying for ?

Nope, as Volt is a benefit and not part of your contract, but by all means contact a solicitor and seek proper legal advice...

But follow the advice above and speak to the Social Media team, I had a similar issue with Volt and they will take a few account details for both accounts and then it should be matched and the volt BENEFITS applied.

And if they updated the account on the 3rd  Jan, then its 14 working days from that date, so it could be until the 23rd January for it be updated

Details are the same, one of the first things I checked. Not sure if I don’t have a leg to stand on? I could be tooing and frowning for the next 18months to sort this out. I wish i hadn’t bother , my giffgaff deal was better also I could have got a better deal going through uswitch for o2.

myO2 shows I’m on a Volt contract but isn’t doubling.

My tariff from MyO2 web above, and my bolt-ons from MyO2 App below (App shows all bolt-ons, I have found!) @Nick123456

Looks like your tariff is stating VOLT, but your account has not had the correct bolt-ons applied...

Keep hassling O2 on one of the Social Media links below. It is possible the Community Manager @Dave-O2 may be able to help, but not until he gets to see this tag on Monday, at this point.

I just checked the Volt deal on Virgin, now they’re offering 20gb Data for £10. Bit rich that! BTW I’ve looked at the billing on My O2 web, I can see it says I’ll be paying £10 for 5gb Volt.

Just an observation: is your SIM an O2-branded SIM, @Nick123456?

Or is it a SIM in an iPad or similar tablet (data only)?

A little peruse, as that "VOLT SIM", and the "FREE" in the bottom right caught my eye, on the VM community reveals:

https://community.virginmedia.com/discussions/ManageAccountCable/renew-volt-with-o2-downgrade/560487...

(You should be able to access that URL without having to log in to the VM community).

Just wondering if you have a SIM that is ineligible for Volt benefits.
