Pac code from Virgin media

Hi, have just transferred my mobile to Volt package. Told Virgin I wanted to keep my number and they said this could be done....do they sent the pac code to O2 when setting up the package or do I have to do it please?

Virgin media told me it would be automatic transfer of my number within 2 hours of putting the SIM card in.  No instructions with SIM card. Is there a consistent answer from these companies.
