swap my sim

I have just upgraded my phone, and requested a new sim but to keep my existing number.  I have followed the instructions given for this, and it came up saying that I would get two messages, one against hackers, and one giving me a 6 digit code to put in to verify that it is me.  I have been trying all day to get this 6 digit code, but nothing is happening.  All my data and pictures have gone to the new phone, but neither phone will make or receive calls.  The old phone now says not registered on network, and the new phone says mobile network not available and enable wifi calling to make a call.  This also means I cannot get to any voicemails and some are important as I am in the middle of changing my job, and it will look like I'm ignoring them.

Other messages and emails seem to be getting through.

Can you tell me how to rectify this in a step by step guide.

We're just customers like you but it sounds as if you need someone to access your account which can't be done from here
