My device screen has decided to fail on me & it seems impossible to contact anyone on a live chat. As I can’t use the device I can’t call anyone

It would depend on how the damage occurred @Much and if you have insurance for it.

If you have o2 insurance you need to contact o2 - and if your phone is not working you can call 0344 809 0202, or message them on social media:

 Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG)

If you do not, then you can ask o2 or the manufacturer for a repair but it will cost you - or try your local phone repair shop.

Please note, this is not customer services and we cannot access your account. Do not publish personal details (email, phone number, bank account).
