When I am asking people to join me in WhatsApp, they are receiving my message with a phone number that I don’t recognise. Can anyone suggest what the problem may be? I have an iPhone 7

@DCstudley

Delete and reinstall the app. It should ask you to enter your mobile number when reinstalling and it then sends a verification sms to that number.

That will then save as your number.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Make sure you back up whatsapp before uninstalling it, as otherwise you will lose all your chats, photos and you will start from scratch..

Ensure it is backed up to Icloud https://faq.whatsapp.com/iphone/chats/how-to-back-up-to-icloud/?lang=en
