I had a miss call from my wife so I texted her what’s up and a random person replied??
It was under my wife’s profile card so it can’t be a mistake!! What’s going on
and please no stupid replies, it’s kind of weird and seriously worrying

Check the details in your address book under your wife's name?
That said, I have had a scam SMS from my own number once - that's major freaky, but my SPAM detector got it and squirrelled it away. I guess the scammers pick a number at random to use to txt or call (it is not allowed, but can be done with not much outlay on equipment, in some countries) their targets.
Can your wife's phone make and receive calls ok now, after the event, @faborson?
Take a read of this similar occurrence:

Thanks for your reply
but it’s me who started texting not the opposite as a scammer will do. Actually my wife received a scam text few days ago pretending to be our daughter.
but in this case I texted first and I get this freaky situation??
as you can see in the pic my wife appeared twice like if it’s a different number.
