Weak signal due to new research high rise in M20 blocking mast on hospital roof

Hi - we and all of our neighbours have seen our mobile signals deteriorate from “strong” to “weak” due to the building of a new 10-storey (46m-high) research facility at the Christie hospital in Manchester. The weak signal is due to existing mobile phone company masts being on the other side of the new building, situated on a 4-storey block (which was the highest point on the hospital site until a few months ago.) The Christie have agreed with Vodafone to move their mast, but advised residents saying that we have to contact our own networks to report a signal deterioration and request the mast is moved. Apparently the hospital is willing to for masts to be moved, but requires the networks to initiate the change.

We’re just customers like you but it sounds like you’ll need someone to access your account which can’t be done from here. If you message O2 on Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) , they should be able to help you with this
Thanks

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

And you could use O2's Network Status Tool, or the My Network App to keep logging poor quality signal, as mentioned here, @Sams_dad:

 - If you haven’t already, check the Network Status Checker (http://status.o2.co.uk) for the exact postcode. If a fault shows on the live status page, O2 will already be working to fix it, and you’ll be able to register for Keep Me Posted updates. If not, O2 crowd-sources data from all checks to alert them to any problems that they’re not already fixing.

- Is it affecting others on O2? If yes, please get them to go on to Status Checker too.

Good luck!
