Swapping SIMs with O2

Yesterday I bought a SIM only deal from O2.  They gave me a SIM with a number.  However, yesterday I phoned customer services and asked for my old O2 number to be moved over to my new SIM card.  So far nothing has happened !!  Is this normal and am I being impatient or should I contact customer services again.  How long should I expect this process to take ?

Go to Settings >Phone >My Number and edit your number there,

Save it and reboot the phone.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

As it was requested yesterday, it may not happen until Monday, although there is a chance it will happen today.

If you message O2 on Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) , they should be able to help you with this.
Thanks.

Thank you so much - it appears to be all happening now so I was just being impatient !!

Wonder if you can help me with another question.  I have an Apple iphone and when I go into Settings/Apple ID it shows my number as being the number as being the SIM number I bought yesterday.  When will by old number show here ?
